There are about 200 recipes floating around out there for these biscuits, but this is by far the simplest and most delicious I’ve found. Enjoy.
I made these for the first week of football, when we always have our family over to watch the Green Bay Packers on DirectTV’s NFL Sunday Ticket. The kids run around and play; we drink beer, eat a lot of food and watch football.
I love football season.
I didn’t take any pics of the making of these because they’re so simple and I almost wasn’t going to post them, but I figured if I’d tried a few different recipes before I found this particular one, then maybe you’re looking too. And I can save you the trial and error.
Ingredients
- 2 1/2 cups Bisquick baking mix
- 4 Tbsps cold salted butter, chopped
- 1 1/2 cups grated cheddar cheese (use good cheese)
- 3/4 cup cold milk
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 3-4 Tbsp butter, melted
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp parsley flakes
Brush on top
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Combine Bisquick and chopped butter using a pastry knife or large fork. Don't over mix - you should have pea-sized chunks. Add cheese, milk, garlic and salt. Stir just until everything is blended.
- Use an ice-cream scoop (or measuring cup) to drop 1/2 cup sized balls onto a baking sheet.
- Bake for 17 minutes, or until the tops are golden brown.
- Remove from oven and let stand for 10 minutes. Brush with melted butter topping. Serve warm.
